Software and Hardware Contractor Demand in Europe Decreases in Q4 2014

The Oxford Index is a quarterly survey of projected demand for freelance software and hardware contractors in Europe conducted by Oxford Global Resources.

Results of our study for Q4 2014 are based on 32 managers’ responses from across Europe.

Our survey revealed the following for Q4 2014:

  • 9 percent of our respondents expect an increase in their use of freelance software and hardware contractors, while 22 percent anticipate a decrease in demand. 
  • 66 percent anticipate no change in their use of freelance software and hardware contractors in Europe, while the remaining 3 percent are unsure.
  •  The resulting Oxford Index for software and hardware engineering contractors fell to 87.5, suggesting a decrease in demand for software and hardware engineering contractors in Europe in Q4 2014.
