Electrical Engineering Consultant Demand Trends for Q1 2012

The Oxford Index is a quarterly survey of projected demand for electrical engineering consultants conducted by Oxford Global Resources.

Results of our study for Q1 2012 are based on 23 electrical engineering managers’ responses from across North America.

For Q1 2012:

• 52% of respondents expect an increase in their use of electrical engineering consultants while only 4% anticipate a decrease. 
• 39% anticipate no change in use of electrical engineering consultants.
• The resulting Oxford Index for electrical engineering consultants spiked to 147.8, suggesting very strong demand for electrical engineering consultants in Q1.
• The eight quarter trend of the Oxford Index for electrical engineering consultants is positive: all of the past eight quarters have been above 100, suggesting net positive demand over the entire time period.

The specific types of electrical engineering consultants in greatest demand include those with experience in Medical Equipment, Appliance, Durable Goods, and Aerospace manufacturing companies.
